1. A federal judge in Anchorage has ruled in favor of Alaska’s state-owned investment bank in a lawsuit that could clear the way for oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

2. U.S. House Republicans put the top executives of National Public Radio and Public Broadcasting System on the hot seat Wednesday and vowed to cut off federal funding for public broadcasting.

3. State lawmakers are now more than halfway through their four-month legislative session, and time is growing short to come up with a budget deal.

4. The Alaska seafood industry says it’s getting crushed by unfair trade, and industry groups are urging the federal government to push back against international competition they say doesn’t play by the rules.

5. An 18-year-old student at Monroe Catholic High School in Fairbanks has won a competitive national scholarship from the National Honor Society.
